Shopian Launches ‘Janbagidari Abhiyan’ to Ensure Full Saturation of Benefits in Tribal Villages

As part of the nationwide outreach campaign under Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DA JGUA), District Shopian today launched the “Dharti Aaba janbagidari Abhiyan – Awareness and Benefit Saturation Camps” at Panchayat Ghar Kathahallan,Shopian aimed at ensuring saturation of services & benefits in the tribal village

The event was graced by Hon’ble MLA Shopian, Shabir Ahmad Kullay and Deputy Commissioner Shopian, Shishir Gupta.

In his address, MLA Shopian Shabir Ahmad Kullay emphasized the government’s commitment to equitable development, stating, “This Abhiyan is a historic step toward tribal empowerment. It brings government services and schemes directly to the doorstep of our tribal brothers and sisters, ensuring they are not left behind in the journey of progress.”

DC Shopian in his remarks, underscored the importance of convergence and last-mile delivery, adding, “This mission reflects our dedication to inclusive governance. Through coordinated efforts of all departments, we aim to achieve 100% saturation and uplift tribal communities with dignity and efficiency.”

Several district and sectoral officers were present on the occasion, underling strong inter- departmental coordination and commitment towards tribal welfare.

Various departments including Health, education, social welfare,Agriculture, RDD, Horticulture,Ayush,NRLM, Animal & Sheep husbandry and others had setup dedicated stalls at the venue to extend onspot benefits and services to eligible beneficiaries.

These departments showcased various services including financial, insurance, livelihood and employment generation and welfare schemes/ interventions and felicitated enrollment, awareness and immediate assistance as part of the saturation drive.The event also featured cultural presentations and stall display featuring tribal culture.

The local residents welcomed the initiative wholeheartedly. “We are truly grateful that such services are being provided in our own village. It is a great help to our families,” shared one of the beneficiaries.

The Abhiyan will continue till 30th June 2025 in two tribal villages of the district, including Pehlipora implemented in convergence with line departments.
