Washington/Tel Aviv/Tehran: In the aftermath of Israel’s most recent strikes on Iran’s nuclear facility in Natanz, US President Donald Trump said that all Iranian ‘hardliners’ who refused to reach a deal with Washington are now dead, issuing an ultimatum to Tehran, telling them to either reach a deal or continue facing ‘the slaughter.’

Taking to his social media platform Truth Social, Trump wrote “I gave Iran chance after chance to make a deal. I told them, in the strongest terms, to ‘just do it,’ but no matter how hard they tried, how close they got, they just could not get it done.”

“Certain Iranian hardliners spoke barely, but they did not know what was about to happen. They are all dead now, and it will only get worse,” he added, issuing an ominous warning, reports Jerusalem Post.

Urging Tehran to reach a nuclear deal with the US if it wants to avoid further casualties, he wrote there was time still “to make this slaughter and the next come to an end…Iran must make a deal, before there is nothing left.”

Shortly after the success of the IDF’s ‘Operation Rising Lion’ earlier today, where Tel Aviv destroyed facilities, and killed several members of Iranian government’s top brass, which included both chief nuclear scientists and military generals, Trump said that US will come to Israel’s defence, if the need arises.

In an interview with Fox News, the POTUS emphasised that Iran cannot have a nuclear bomb whatsoever, and reaching a deal with Washington was in its best interests, hoping to get Tehran and Washington back on the negotiating table.

“Iran cannot have a nuclear bomb and we are hoping to get back to the negotiating table. We will see. There are several people in leadership that will not be coming back,” Fox News reporter Jennifer Griffin quoted Trump as saying in a post on X.

“Tonight, Israel took unilateral action against Iran. We are not involved in strikes against Iran and our top priority is protecting American forces in the region,” Secretary of State Marco Rubio said in a statement.

“President Trump and the administration have taken all necessary steps to protect our forces and remain in close contact with our regional partners. Let me be clear: Iran should not target US interests or personnel.”

“Israel is doing a favour to America right now by taking out Iran’s nuclear capacity,” US Senator Ted Cruz told Fox News.

“We don’t know how this is going to end, but a nuclear Iran would be a profound threat to Israel and a profound threat to America,” Cruz added.
