3,395 COVID cases in India

Chennai: The Union Health Ministry said on Saturday (today) that a total of 3,395 active COVID cases were reported in the country, including 189 in Tamil Nadu.

A total of four deaths were reported in India since yesterday–with one each in Delhi, Karnataka, Kerala and Uttar Pradesh.

In an update with statistics, it said a 71-year-old male in Delhi died of Pneumonia, Septic Shock with AKI.

In Karnataka, a 63-year-old male died of Septic shock with MODS, AKI with oliguria, Pneumonia with ARDS and Hyponatremia, while in Kerala a 59-year-old male, a known case of CAD admitted in HDU with left sided pneumonia, Type II Respiratory Failure, Sepsis, Septic Shock, newly detected DM, died.

In Uttar Pradesh a 23 years old male died after he was admitted in AIIMS Rishikesh, with co-morbid conditions.

Of the total COVID cases in India, Kerala topped the list with 1,336 (including an increase of 189 since yesterday) cases, followed by Maharashtra 467, Delhi 375, Gujarat 265, Karnataka 234, West Bengal 205, Tamil Nadu 185, Uttar Pradesh 117, Rajasthan 60, Puducherry 41, Madhya Pradesh 16, while other states reported single digit cases.
