DLSA Bandipora successfully conducted 2nd National Lok Adalat for the year 2025

Bandipora, May 31 (JKNS): The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Bandipora, under the aegis of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) and Jammu and Kashmir Legal Services Authority, successfully conducted the 2nd National Lok Adalat in the district.

The event was held under the supervision of Mr. Khalil Ahmad Choudhary, Chairman, DLSA Bandipora, and guidance of Mr. Sheikh Babar Hussain, Secretary, DLSA Bandipora.

The 2nd National Lok Adalat was successfully inaugurated by Mr. Khalil Ahmad Choudhary, Chairman District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Bandipora. The inauguration ceremony was attended by several distinguished judges, including Mr. Iqbal Ahmad Akhoon, Chief Judicial Magistrate, Bandipora, Mr. Amandeep Singh, Munsiff, Bandipora, and Mr. Zaffar Husson Shawl, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Bandipora.

Other notable attendees included LADCs, Panel Lawyers, Bar Members, and litigants etc. A total of 10 benches were constituted, 1st bench was presided over by Mr. Khalil Ahmad Choudhary, Principal District and Sessions Judge, Bandipora, along with Mr. Shafeeq Ahmad Bhat, Panel lawyer of DLSA , Bandipora as bench member, 2nd bench was presided over by Mr. Sushil Singh, Additional District and Sessions Judge, Bandipora, with Ms. Rahila Rashid, Munsiff, Sumbal, as bench member, 3rd bench was presided over by Mr. Iqbal Ahmad Akhoon, Chief Judicial Magistrate, Bandipora, along with Adv. Bilal Ahmad Bhat (Chief LADC) Bandipora as bench member, 4th bench was presided over by Mr. Amandeep Singh, Munsiff, Bandipora, along with Adv. Javaid Iqbal Lone, (Assistant LADC) Bandipora as bench member, 5th bench was presided over by Ms. Mehak Mehboob, Munsiff, Gurez, along with Adv. Tajamul Islam, Panel Lawyer of TLSC Gurez as bench member, 6th bench was presided over by Mr. Zaffar Husson Shawl, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Bandipora, along with Mr. Shabir Ahmad Wani, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Bandipora as bench member, 7th bench was presided over by Ms. Rabia Mir, Assistant Labour Commissioner, Bandipora, along with Mr. Abid Naik, Labour Inspector, Bandipora as bench member, 8th bench was presided over by Mr. Anis Ahmad Wani, ARTO, Bandipora, along with Mr. Mohd Tariq, Inspector (ARTO Office) Bandipora as bench member, 9th bench was presided over by Mr. Firdous Ahmad Qadri, Tehsildar/Executive Magistrate, Bandipora, along with Mr. Manzoor Ahmad Dar, Naib Tehsildar Bandipora as bench member and 10th bench was presided over by Mr. Aijaz Ahmad Khan, Chief Executive Officer, Bandipora, along with Mr. Nasir Ahmad Dar, Incharge Litigation (MC Bandipora) as bench member. All the benches so constituted worked tirelessly to dispose off a large number of cases.

During the Lok Adalat, a total number of 1242 cases were taken up, out of which 685 cases were disposed off amicably, resulting in a settlement amount of Rs 63,21,250/-.

The cases disposed off included matrimonial cases, NI Act Cases, Civil Cases, Criminal compoundable cases, bank recovery cases, pre-litigation cases, etc.
The National Lok Adalat aimed to provide a platform for amicable settlement of disputes, promoting justice and reducing pending cases.

The DLSA Bandipora, has achieved this objective by settling a significant number of cases through the Lok Adalat. (JKNS)
