Traffic on Gurez-Bandipora and Mughal Road Closed due to Fresh Snowfall

Srinagar, May 31 (JKNS): Authorities on Saturday suspended traffic movement on Gurez-Bandipora road and Mughal Road following fresh snowfall at Peer Ki Gali and Razdan Top.

An official from traffic department told news agency JKNS that due to snowfall at Razdan Top, movement along the Gurez-Bandipora road has been halted as a precautionary measure. “Traffic will remain suspended till further orders,” he added.

Meanwhile, Mughal Road, which connects Poonch and Rajouri with Shopian, has also been blocked due to fresh snowfall at Peer ki Gali, officials confirmed.

Official further said that passenger traffic is plying from both sides, from Jammu towards Srinagar and vice versa and HMVs are plying from Jammu towards Srinagar on Jammu-Srinagar NHW (NH-44).

Weather heavy rain on whole NH-44. Commuters are advised to follow lane discipline, overtaking will cause congestion, official said.(JKNS)
