Srinagar, May 27 (JKNS): Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Tuesday chaired a Cabinet meeting in Pahalgam, sending a strong signal that Jammu and Kashmir remains unshaken by acts of terror and continues to function with full administrative resolve.
In a post on X, as per news agency JKNS, office of J&K CM wrote, “Chaired a Cabinet Meeting at Pahalgam today. It was not just a routine administrative exercise, but a clear message we are not intimidated by cowardly acts of terror. The enemies of peace will never dictate our resolve. Jammu & Kashmir stands firm, strong, and unafraid.”
Today’s meeting is the first Cabinet session held in Pahalgam, marking a symbolic move to assert normalcy and instill confidence, particularly among tourists, many of whom left the Valley following the April 22 terror attack in which 26 civilians, including 25 tourists and one local, lost their lives.
Earlier in the day, National Conference president Dr. Farooq Abdullah said the Cabinet meeting in Pahalgam would send a strong message of peace and reassurance. He urged citizens across the country to visit Jammu and Kashmir and appealed to the Ministry of External Affairs to lift the travel advisories currently in place for the region.
The Omar Abdullah-led Government has maintained that sustained efforts are underway to revive the tourism sector in Jammu and Kashmir, especially in the Valley, which has suffered a major blow after the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam. (JKNS)
