Kupwara: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan on Monday convened a meeting of concerned officers to review the arrangements for celebration of annual Kheer Bhawani Mela at Tikker Kupwara.
A threadbare discussion was held on availability of power and water supply, health care facilities, security and sanitation, essential commodities and other arrangements to ensure smooth celebration of the Mela Kheer Bhawani by the devotees.
DC directed the concerned departments for making necessary arrangements for uninterrupted power and drinking water supplies, transport, security, ration, medical facilities, sanitation in and around the temple and other arrangements.
Municipal Committee Kupwara was directed to ensure proper sanitation within the premises as well as approaching road stretch of the temple at Tikker.
FCS&CA was directed to ensure availability of all essential commodities for the devotees at the venue.
DC directed the officers to ensure that all requisite arrangements are put in place well in advance for the devotees who are visiting to pay obeisance, and to work in close coordination to ensure smooth conduct of the mela.
ADC was designated as Nodal Officer for ensuring the arrangements at the venue and shall liaise with the concerned Ashtapan Committee.
He was also directed to visit the Temple along with concerned officers for inspection of the arrangements made there.
The meeting was attended by ADC Kupwara, Gulzar Ahmad; Tehsildar Kupwara, besides, Engineers from PDD, PHE and R&B.
