Pak Army Opens Unprovoked Fire Across LoC in Multiple J&K Sectors, Indian Army Responds

Srinagar, May 6 (JKNS): Pakistan Army resorted to unprovoked small-arms firing across the Line of Control (LoC) during the intervening night of May 5-6, targeting multiple forward areas in Jammu and Kashmir.

Official sources told news agency JKNS that the firing was reported from areas opposite Kupwara, Baramulla, Poonch, Rajouri, Mendhar, Naushera, Sunderbani, and Akhnoor, the Army said, adding that its troops gave a proportionate response.

“During the night of 05-06 May 2025, Pakistan Army resorted to unprovoked small-arms firing from posts across the Line of Control… Indian Army responded in a proportionate manner,” they said.

There were no reports of any casualties or major damage on the Indian side. Troops in all sectors remain on high alert, they added.

The situation along the LoC is being closely monitored amid increased instances of ceasefire violations in recent weeks. (JKNS)
