Poetry Collection ‘Chand Gawah Hai’ by Ghulam Nabi Shahid Launched in Srinagar

Srinagar: A book launch event for “Chaand Gawah Hai”, latest collection of poems by acclaimed writer Ghulam Nabi Shahid, was held at a local hotel in Srinagar on Saturday. The event was jointly organized by Nagina International and Jammu & Kashmir Fiction Writers Guild.

Former Justice, Justice Bashir Ahmed Kirmani presided over the event, joined by prominent literary figures including Ayaz Rasool Nazki, Zareef Ahmed Zareef, Vehshi Sayeed, Masooda Rajpuri, and the author himself.

The program began with a critical review of the book by noted writer and Assistant Professor Dr. Kausar Rasool, which was well-received by the audience. The Fiction Writers Guild also honored Ghulam Nabi Shahid for his contributions to literature, while several attendees presented him with gifts as a token of appreciation.

Sofi Bashir Bashir recited some of Shahid’s poems in his melodious voice, captivating the listeners. Speakers such as Ayaz Rasool Nazki, Zareef Ahmad Zareef, Vehshi Sayeed, Er.Shafi Ahmed and Showkat Shafi shared their thoughts on the occasion.

In his presidential address, Justice Bashir Ahmed Kirmani (r) congratulated Shahid, calling the book a valuable addition to Urdu literature. A message from prominent Author and poet Rafiq Raaz, read by Nasir Zameer, praised Shahid’s unique style and technique.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Zahoor Tramboo of Nageena International, while Shabeena Ara conducted the proceedings.
