New Delhi: The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) on Saturday dismissed Constable Munir Ahmed from service with immediate effect, for concealing his marriage to a Pakistani national.

According to sources, this was a matter of serious concern and Munir Ahmed “knowingly harboured her beyond the validity of her visa, and his actions were found to be in violation of service conduct and detrimental to national security”.

“In a matter of serious concern, CT/GD Munir Ahmed of 41 Battalion of CRPF has been dismissed from service with immediate effect for concealing his marriage to a Pakistani national and knowingly harbouring her beyond the validity of her visa. His actions were found to be in violation of service conduct and detrimental to national security,” they said.

Notably, Minal Ahmed Khan, a resident of Punjab in Pakistan, had married to Munir Ahmed, in May last year via video chat and later visited India on a 15-day visa, where she officially married him.

The couple was staying in Gharota area on the outskirts of Jammu. Minal Khan, whose visa expired in March this year, had applied for an extension, but the application was pending before the Ministry of Home Affairs.

India had suspended the visas of the Pakistani nationals in the aftermath of the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack.
