Terrorist Killed, 2 Security Personnel, Injured in Bandipora Exchange of Fire

Srinagar, Apr 25 (JKNS): One terrorist was killed and two security personnel were injured in an exchange of fire between security forces and terrorists in Kulnar, Bazipora area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Friday.

Police sources told news agency JKNS that the exchange of fire took place after security forces launched a cordon and search operation in the area based on inputs about the presence of terrorists.

“During the operation, the hiding terrorist opened fire on the search party, leading to an exchange of fire, they said.

One terrorist has been neutralized, while two security personnel sustained injuries in the initial exchange,” a police sources said.

Both the security personnel were shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment, and their condition is said to be stable, they said.

The operation is still in progress. Reinforcements have been rushed to the area, and tight cordon remains in place. (JKNS)
