Pulwama: Chairperson of the Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board, Dr Syed Darakhshan Andrabi, today inaugurated the ‘Indian-Oil Heart-Clinic on Wheels’ in Hall, Pulwama—a collaborative initiative between the Gauri Koul Foundation and Indian Oil Corporation Limited under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme.
The event was attended by several prominent figures including Member Parliament Mian Altaf Ahmad, renowned cardiologist and Gauri Koul Foundation head Dr Upendra Kaul, Arif Akhtar (GM-HR, CSR, IOCL), former IOCL CEO M A Pathan, Dr Zubair Saleem, and businessman Mushtaq Chaya, among others.
Speaking at the occasion, Dr Andrabi praised the initiative, stating, “Such CSR projects play a crucial role in delivering healthcare to the grassroots. A mobile cardiology clinic will be a great boon for patients in remote areas. We must think out of the box to upgrade and expand medical facilities for the people.”
She lauded Dr Kaul’s continued efforts in offering care to patients from his native region and for his widespread awareness and rehabilitation campaigns.
Dr Andrabi also called on the business community in J&K to increase their CSR contributions, especially in rural areas. “There is a huge scope for the business and industry of J&K to contribute under CSR in the health and education sectors,” she emphasized.
