2 More J&K Govt Employees Dismissed Over Alleged Terror Links

Srinagar: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Thursday ordered the termination of two more Jammu and Kashmir government employees for their alleged involvement in terrorist activities.

Official sources told news agency JKNS that, the two dismissed employees, includes one namely Basharat Ahmad Mir, Assistant Wireless Operator in Jammu and Kashmir Police Department, R/o Brein Srinagar While another one namely, Ishtiyak Ahmed Malik, Senior Assistant in Public Works (R&B) Department, R/o Anantnag.

The duo was found to be allegedly involved in activities that posed a serious threat to national security. Sources stated that strict action against individuals involved in anti-national activities is essential to ensure peace and stability in the Union Territory.

Meanwhile, as per an official order issued by LG administration, a copy of which accessed by news aagency JKNS reads, the Lieutenant Governor is satisfied after considering the facts and circumstances of the case and on the basis of the information available, that the activities of Ishtiyak Ahmed Malik, Senior Assistant in Public Works (R&B) Department S/o Late Ghulam Rasool Malik R/o Shitroo Larnoo, District Anantnag are such as to warrant his dismissal from service.

Lieutenant Governor is satisfied under sub-clause (c) of the proviso to clause (2) of Article 311 of the Constitution of India that in the interest of the security of the State, it is not expedient to hold an enquiry in the case of Ishtiyak Ahmed Malik, Senior Assistant in Public Works (R&B) Department S/o Late Ghulam Rasool Malik R/o Shitroo Larnoo, District Anantnag, it reads.

Accordingly, the Lieutenant Governor hereby dismisses Ishtiyak Ahmed Malik, Senior Assistant in Public Works (R&B) Department S/o Late Ghulam Rasool Malik R/o Shitroo Larnoo, District Anantnag from service, with immediate effect, reads the order.

Another seperate order reads, the Lieutenant Governor is satisfied after considering the facts and circumstances of the case and on the basis of the information available, that the activities of Basharat Ahmad Mir, Assistant Wireless Operator in Jammu and Kashmir Police Department S/o Ghulam Mohammad Mir R/o Upper Brein, District Srinagar are such as to warrant his dismissal from service, it reads.

So far, more than 70 government employees with terror links have been dismissed by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha. (JKNS)
