Day temperatures above normal at isolated places over Jammu-Kashmir & Ladakh

Pune: Day temperatures were appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at isolated places over Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad; above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at isolated places over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Saurashtra and Kutch, Konkan and Goa, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal.

On Friday, the highest maximum temperature of 40.1°C was reported at Anantapur (Rayalaseema) over the country.

Night temperatures were above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at many places over Andaman and Nicobar Islands; at a few places over Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal; at isolated places over Kerala and Mahe, Lakshadweep, south interior Karnataka, west Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat state, Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura and west Rajasthan.

These were appreciably below normal (-3.1°C to -5.0°C) at a few places over Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha; at isolated places over Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttarakhand, east Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, east Rajasthan; below normal (-3.0°C to -1.6°C) at isolated places over Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Madhya Maharashtra, west Uttar Pradesh and near normal over rest parts of the country.

on Saturday, the lowest minimum temperature of 13.0°C is reported at Bahraich (east Uttar Pradesh) over the plains of the country.

Hailstorms were reported at isolated locations over Vidarbha, Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand, east Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Telangana.

Rain or thundershowers have occurred at most places in Gangetic West Bengal and Jharkhand and at a few places in Arunachal Pradesh, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Kerala and Lakshadweep and at isolated places in Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Sub Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Bihar, east Uttar Pradesh, west Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, east Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and north interior Karnataka.

Mainly dry weather has prevailed in Haryana, Punjab, Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh, Rajasthan, west Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Gujarat State, Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Rayalaseema, coastal Andhra Pradesh, coastal and south interior Karnataka and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Following observations for the past 24 hrs were recorded at 0830 hrs on Saturday.
