Srinagar,: The district administration has imposed a fine of ₹1.52 on several food traders in Srinagar for violating food safety norms.
In the adjudication proceedings held by Additional Deputy Commissioner Srinagar and Adjudicating Officer, Syed Ahmad Kateria as per news agency JKNS, a fine of ₹1,52,500 was imposed on food business operators for breaching various provisions of the Food Safety and Standards Act (FSS Act).
Kateria also cautioned the traders that repeated violations would lead to strict action, including the closure of their establishments.
The action is part of ongoing efforts to ensure food safety and hygiene under the Food Safety and Standards Act 2006 across Srinagar. (JKNS)
