VC LCMA reviews Dal, Nigeen conservation plan

Also assesses status of ongoing developmental works

SRINAGAR: Vice Chairman (V.C), Lakes Conservation and Management Authority (LCMA), Shahid Saleem Dar, on Saturday chaired a high-level meeting to review the Dal and Nigeen lakes conservation plan and assess the status of ongoing developmental works under LCMA.
The meeting focused on various aspects of Dal and Nigeen lakes conservation and management, including the status of works under Capex, recurring activities under GIA, and the integrated management plan for the conservation program of the Dal and Nigeen lake ecosystem under CSS.
It was informed that out of 62 works taken up during 2024-25 under different heads, 26 works stand completed till date.
During the review, plans in the pipeline were also reviewed. Concerned officers were instructed to ensure the timely completion of all developmental projects.
He further instructed LCMA officers to remain committed to timely delivery and transparent discharge of duties in result oriented manner.
The Vice Chairman also directed officers to incorporate clearing all water channels, beautification of all water channels, Trash Skimmers for collecting trash, new STPs, new MHA project, Ferris wheel on line of London Eye, Floating cafes, Theme park and Musical fountains in the upcoming execution plan.
