May 15: Police in Sopore recovered a kidnapped girl within 12 hours and arrested the person involved in the commission of crime.
Police Station Sopore received a complaint regarding missing of a girl. Accordingly, a missing report was lodged in Police Station Sopore and investigation was initiated.
During the course of investigation, it was learnt that the said girl was kidnapped by one accused person identified as Imran Ahmad Kana son of Fayaz Ahmad Kana resident of Sheer Colony Sopore. Subsequently, the said girl has been recovered from the accused person within 12 hours and he has been arrested and shifted to PS Sopore where he remains in custody. Also, the missing report has been converted into case FIR No. 124/2021 u/s 366 IPC.
After fulfilling all medico-legal formalities, the girl will be handed over to her legal heirs. Investigation into the matter is in progress.
