200 Units Free Electricity for AAY Families, Free Transport for Women from April 1: CM Omar Abdullah

Jammu: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, while presenting the Jammu and Kashmir Budget 2025, announced several welfare measures, including free electricity and transport benefits.

As per news agency JKNS, Omar Abdullah said that 200 units of free electricity will be provided to all AAY families in J&K. He also announced that from April 1, women will be allowed free travel in all government-operated transport, including e-buses.

Additionally, AAY beneficiaries will receive 10 kg of free ration every month from April 1, and marriage assistance for girls under the AAY category has been increased from ₹50,000 to ₹75,000.

Omar Abdullah further stated that 200 more e-buses will be introduced in Srinagar and Jammu this year to improve public transport. (JKNS)
