Kishtwar : To speed up the development works Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Kumar Shavan reviewed the working of the Police Housing Corporation, Police Construction Division, and the under-construction Police Line at Kishtwar.
The Police Construction Division is constructing a Police Line over 61 Kanal of state land here in Indira Nagar.
The land was transferred to the Police Department by the Revenue department years ago but the project, executed by Police Housing Corporation, is lingering due to slow pace of work.
To speed up the work, the DC took a detailed review and also visited the site to understand the components of the project. A follow-up meeting has been scheduled for the first week of March.
During the meeting, the contractors raised the issue of some pending payments, including the cladding issue of Paddar.
The DC assured that the matter would be taken up with the competent authority for early redress so that the work does not suffer.
During the DC’s visit to the Police Line, it was noticed that an illegal PDD connection was feeding the area, for which the locals had lodged complaints.
The DC instructed the concerned officers and officials to get a regular connection and expedite the electrification portion of the project.
The issue of road connectivity to the campus was also discussed, and the DC issued instructions to the ADC to submit the revenue papers by the next meeting.
ADC Kishtwar Pawan Kotwal, CPO Kishtwar Shahnawaz Bali and other concerned officers and staff were present during the visit.
