Indbatt Troops Lead Anti-Drug Awareness Campaign In Abyei

Amid growing concerns over drug abuse affecting a significant portion of the local population in Abyei, the Indian Battalion (INDBATT) under the umbrella of UNISFA organised a comprehensive Anti-Drug Awareness Campaign at Abyei.

The campaign featured an insightful lecture on ‘Say No to Drugs’ and ‘The Power of Education’. The session aimed to educate and empower the community emphasising the urgent need to combat substance abuse through awareness and education.

A total of 124 participants, including 32 women, 19 men, and 73 children, took part in the interactive session. The campaign received overwhelming appreciation from the locals, who acknowledged the initiative as a vital step towards addressing the region’s drug abuse crisis.

This initiative stands as a beacon of hope for Abyei, fostering awareness, resilience and empowerment within the community. The Indian Battalion remains steadfast in its commitment to promoting peace, security and social well-being in the region through impactful initiatives.
