Srinagar: Another mistake by the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has surfaced, this time in a Class 10 Social Studies question paper, where a multiple-choice question (MCQ) contained incorrect answer options.
The question, “Who was the first President of the Indian National Congress?” had none of the four provided options as correct. The given choices were: (A) A.O. Hume, (B) Mahatma Gandhi, (C) S.N. Banerjee, and (D) Lala Lajpat Rai. However, the correct answer is Womesh Chandra Banerjee.
This incident adds to a series of issues JKBOSE has faced in recent months, including errors in textbooks, a shortage of books, and the absence of a chairman after the previous term ended.
Additionally, 22 students were denied exam forms, and a girl student did not receive her roll number slip due to a technical error in her exam form. Now, the mistake in the question paper has further raised concerns over the board’s functioning.
Bashir Ahmad Local resident from Srinagar said, “What is wrong with JKBOSE why they are playing with our children’s future, are they doing this deliberately to finish Kashmiri children’s future, we want answer from JKBOSE and also want Omar Sahab and LG Manoj Sinha look into this matter. (JKNS)
