DDC Shopian reviews ongoing dev works in the Distt

Shopian, February, 18: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Shopian, Shishir Gupta convened a meeting to review the Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram (PMJVK) here, today.

The meeting deliberated on initiatives aimed at the socio-economic development of minority communities, with directives issued to ensure timely initiation and effective implementation of key projects.

DC reviewed the number of projects for which Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) have been prepared and emphasized the need for expeditious implementation in sectors of Social Welfare, Health, Agriculture allied and skill development.

He directed the concerned departments to submit all DPRs and ensure their approval immediately so that they can be further approved by the District Level Committee.

In the dairy sector, the DC emphasized for the implementation of milk processing projects under public- Private partnership model within the PMJVK framework.

Regarding Handicrafts as the Nodal Department for skill development, DDC suggested establishing integrated infrastructure comprising training centres alongside dedicated selling facilities.

PMJVK aims to develop minority concentration areas by improving infrastructure and basic amenities by reducing gaps in socio-economic parameters between minority concentration areas and the rest of the country with special focus on women development.

The meeting was among others attended by the ADC, Dr. Zakir Hussain Faaz, CAHO, Xen R&B, CMO, DSWO, DSHO and other concerned
