Srinagar: Police on Friday said that it has solved a theft case by arresting the accused involved in the commission of crime and also recovered stolen cash from his possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that on 12th February Police Station Soura received a written complaint from one Ali Mohammad Mir R/o Nowshera, wherein he stated that an unknown thief barged into his cloth shop located in Nowshera and stole cash amounting to Rs ₹27,000, adding therein that a case under FIR No. 08/2025 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Soura besides initiating further investigation.
Police in its statement further said that after strenuous efforts, police team apprehended an accused identified as Imran Hussain Sofi S/o Ghulam Nabi R/o Khumeni chowk, Bemina Budgam within hours after the commission of crime and later on his disclosure, stolen cash amount of Rs ₹27,000 was also recovered.
In the concluding para of its above quoted statement Police appealed people to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the nearby Police unit or Dial-112 without delay so that prompt action against the culprits is taken.
