Magisterial Enquiry Ordered into Death of Kathua youth

Kathua, : District Magistrate Kathua has ordered a magisterial enquiry to determine the cause of death of Sh. Makhan, resident of Billawar, while Anil Kumar, JKAS, is appointed as Enquiry Magistrate.

As per an order issued by District Magistrate Kathua, a copy of which is available with news agency JKNS, it states that the death of Sh. Makhan S/o Murid, R/o Billawar, has come to the notice of the undersigned.

The order further mentions that a magisterial enquiry is required to be conducted to ascertain the actual cause of death.

Therefore, Sh. Anil Kumar, JKAS, Tehsildar Lohai Malhar, has been appointed as Enquiry Magistrate to conduct the enquiry and submit a detailed report.

The order also directs that the enquiry magistrate shall submit the report within five days, taking statements from all relevant persons and following all required procedures under the relevant rules.

Earlier, former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti had called for an investigation into the death of the youth. (JKNS)
