Srinagar : The Directorate of Horticulture, Kashmir, in collaboration with the Central Integrated Pest Management Centre, Srinagar, organized a comprehensive training session on the functionality of the NPSS (National Pest Surveillance System) Mobile App.
The session was conducted by Assistant Plant Protection Officer (PP) Dr. Haroon Rashid Hakla, who provided a detailed demonstration about features of App and its benefits to the farming community.
The training programme was attended by District Level Officers of the Horticulture Department and orchardists from various parts of Kashmir.
The session focused on educating participants about the app’s role in monitoring and managing pest control through a user-friendly digital interface, making pest management easier for farmers.
Joint Director Horticulture A.H. Bhat, on the occasion underscored the significance of App for the farming community. He stated that the app would be a valuable tool for orchardists, aiding them in better pest management and ultimately improving the productivity and sustainability of the horticulture sector in the region.
This training is part of the ongoing efforts by the Directorate of Horticulture, Kashmir, to equip local farmers with modern tools and knowledge to enhance agricultural practices.
