This short video clip also won admiration and has highlighted cultural resilience of Gurez, the most remote valley, which gets cut off through thick snowfall during winter months.

Their performance is a poignant reminder of the strong bond between Kashmir’s people and their cultural roots. While modernity often overshadows traditional practices, this act serves as a powerful celebration of identity, illustrating how music and tradition can thrive even in the most challenging circumstances.

Local resident Bashir Ahmed Teroo shared, “In winter, we organize traditional folk songs and cultural music events to showcase our Gurezi culture. It’s a common practice during the season.
