Bandipora: The Bandipora administration has suspended the 85 km long Gurez-Bandipora road due to heavy snowfall on Friday evening.
Fresh snow accumulation at Razdhan Pass and continued snowfall in Gurez Valley prompted the decision as a precautionary measure.
An official told the news agency JKNS that the suspension will remain in effect until further notice. The heavy snowfall, which began earlier in the afternoon, has made the road conditions unsafe for travelers.
He said they have urged the public to avoid unnecessary travel in the affected areas for their safety.
Similarly, Gurez Valley has been facing intense weather conditions, with snowfall expected to continue throughout the weekend.—(JKNS)
