Srinagar: The Holy Family Catholic Church in Srinagar became the focal point of Christmas celebrations on Wednesday, attracting both locals and tourists.
The highlight of the festive day was the beautifully decorated Christmas tree, which became a major attraction for visitors and local Kashmiris alike.
Reports said the church, located in the heart of Srinagar, Lal Chowk, was abuzz with activity as people from all walks of life visited to offer prayers and enjoy the holiday spirit.
Among the people were local Kashmiri youth, who visited the church and clicked photographs with the Xmas tree and Santa Claus alike. Similarly, families also gathered around the tree, took photos, and shared moments of joy.
“I came here with my family to celebrate Christmas and to witness the beauty of this tree. It is a special tradition for us,” said Thomas, a Christian from Srinagar city. He said the church has always been a place of peace and joy, especially on Christmas.
Certainly, tourists and local Kashmiri people also found the atmosphere enchanting. “This is my first time in Kashmir during Christmas, and it is amazing to see how the community celebrates the holiday,” said Maria, a tourist from Delhi
