NSA Ajit Doval to visit Beijing for SR border talks on Dec 18

New Delhi: As National Security Advisor Ajit Doval holds boundary talks with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Beijing today, China’s Ambassador in India Xu Feihong said that Beijing is ready to work with India to implement the decisions reached by their two leaders in order to bring bilateral ties back on track as soon as possible.

Xu said on X: “China is ready to work with India to implement the important common understandings between the leaders of China and India, respect each other’s core interests and major concerns, strengthen mutual trust through dialogue and communication, properly settle differences with sincerity and good faith, and bring bilateral relations back to the track of stable and healthy development as soon as possible.”

NSA Ajit Doval, who is India’s Special Representative (SR) on the India-China boundary question, and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi are holding the 23rd meeting of the Special Representatives in Beijing today.

During the meeting of PM Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping in Kazan on October 23, it was decided that the two SRs will discuss the management of peace & tranquility in the border areas and explore a fair, reasonable and mutually acceptable solution to the boundary question.

Wang Yi is Member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs of China.
