Washington: US magazine Newsweek published its version of the map of the supposed front in case of World War III.

NATO’s northeastern flank, which includes the border of Russia with Finland, could be a new front, the publication said.

According to the map, the front in case of World War III in Europe could stretch from the northern border of the Russian Federation with Finland, pass through Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Sweden and Poland and end at the border of Germany with Denmark.

According to Newsweek, the Suwalki Corridor on the border between Poland and Lithuania could be of particular importance in case of World War III – here, according to the magazine, the first clash of the parties could occur due to its location between the Kaliningrad Region and Belarus.

The publication said that active military actions might also unfold in the Black and Azov seas. In the south, according to the publication, NATO’s strong position in Abkhazia may “complicate matters.”

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin explained in detail in an interview with US journalist Tucker Carlson that Moscow was not going to attack NATO countries; there was no point in this. The Russian leader noted that Western politicians regularly intimidated their people with an imaginary “Russian threat” in order to distract attention from domestic problems, but “smart people understand perfectly well that this is a fake.”

In recent years, Russia has noted NATO’s unprecedented activity near its western borders. The alliance is expanding its initiatives and calls this “containing Russian aggression.” Moscow has repeatedly expressed concern about the buildup of alliance forces in Europe. The Russian Foreign Ministry stated that Moscow remained open to dialogue with NATO, but on an equal terms, while the West must abandon its course toward the militarization of the continent.
