Srinagar : To advance administrative efficiency and promote paperless operations, the University of Kashmir (KU) officially e-launched its two new digital modules- e-NOC and e-Communication- as part of its ERP-based Administrative Management System (AMS).
Developed in-house by the Directorate of IT&SS KU, these modules represent an important step in the varsity’s ongoing journey toward digital governance and sustainability. The e-NOC module revolutionizes the clearance process for retiring employees by automating approvals, ensuring transparency, and significantly reducing turnaround times. It has also eliminated the hassle of moving from department to department, making the process seamless and efficient. The e-Communication module digitizes official correspondence, enhancing organization, security and speed while reducing reliance on paper-based processes.
Vice-Chancellor KU, Prof. Nilofer Khan, who e-inaugurated the modules, highlighted the University’s vision for integrating technology into its administration and redefining governance in higher education.
“These modules show our determination to create a transparent, efficient and paperless administrative framework,” she said.
While lauding the hassle-free single window mechanism for retiring employees, Prof. Khan said, “The e-NOC system simplifies the retirement process, benefiting employees and setting a benchmark for digital revolution in the region.”
Semonstrating the new e-services, Director IT&SS KU, Dr. Maroof Qadri said, “These digital tools aim to make administrative processes faster, more efficient and paperless, benefiting both employees and the institution.” He further stated, “ITSS has been providing expert consultancy to different government institutions on e-Governed services.” The University community welcomed the new initiatives and appreciated their potential to improve workflows. KU’s AMS has previously integrated several in-house modules, including HR Management, e-File System, e-Bill System, and Hostel Management, among others.
