SHOPIAN, NOVEMBER 07: The Chairperson, District Development Council (DDC) Shopian, Bilqees Jan today convened a comprehensive review meeting at the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Office in Zainapora.

The meeting focused on assessing the department wise progress of various developmental works and schemes within the Zainapora division.

The meeting discussed issues in the Education Department, with specific focus on improving infrastructure and resources.

Additionally, the Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) of Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL), Zainapora, was instructed to expedite the completion of the “Hotline” project for Hermain Hospital to ensure uninterrupted power supply.

In-depth discussions were held regarding projects funded under NABARD, highlighting the need for timely execution and effective utilization of funds.

The Agriculture Department wasdirected to organize awareness camps to educate the local population about the schemes and benefits.

Similarly, the Horticulture Department was tasked with encouraging farmers to participate in the High-Density Apple Plantation (HADP) scheme.

Furthermore, the Chairperson emphasized strict action against sellers distributing substandard insecticides and pesticides, to protect the interests of farmers and ensure quality agricultural inputs.

The Jal Shakti Department was urged to take all necessary measures to preserve water sources in the region, stressing the importance of sustainable water management.

Chairperson reiterated the DDC’s commitment to accelerate the pace of development in Zainapora division and addressing issues critical to local communities.

The meeting was attended by Chief Executive Officer (CEO), District Development Council Shopian, Dr Nasir Ahmad Lone, DDC members, Assistant Commissioner Panchayat along with Officers and officials of the Zainapora division.
