SHOPIAN, NOVEMBER 04: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Mohammad Shahid Saleem Dar today visited various areas including Chowgam, Heerpora, Sedow and other villages to take stock of land identification for various upcoming projects in the district.

The visit was aimed to survey the villages for land availability for various development and welfare projects including for Eklavya Model Residential School (EMRS), Cricket Stadium and a 5- star Hotel in the district.

The District Administration seeks to establish a Stadium of repute with best possible amenities and facilities that can attract fans and enhance the local cricket culture.

Similarly, maiden Eklavya Model Residential School (EMRS) is to be established for accommodation and education purposes for tribal students.

The District Administration also aims to upgrade tourist accommodation along the Mughal Road including a construction of a 5-star Hotel for tourists and visitors.

The DC was accompanied by concerned revenue officers who were instructed to take further action for measurement, demarcation and allotment of land for the utilisation for these projects.

The DC was accompanied by Additional District Development Commissioner, Dr. Nasir Ahmed Lone, ACR, Tehsildar, Shopian and other officers and officials of the revenue department.
