Srinagar, 01 May 2021. Army in collaboration with JK Policy Institute organised an online interactive forum for the teachers and staff of Army Goodwill School Krusan and Chandigam on 01 May 2021.
The theme of the interactive forum was Technology and Gender equality.
Mrs Eslamarie D’Silva, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Red Dot Foundation, India gave the talk on women’s role in Information technology and attainable opportunities. She highlighted the stark difference between the number of educated and qualified women vis-a-vis those employed in IT, Cyber and other similar Industries. She spoke about various avenues where women have not taken up job opportunities owing to myriad restrictions and pressures exerted by society. She also shared her journey in becoming a successful entrepreneur in spite of varied challenges.
Mrs Eslamarie D’Silva interacted with the young participants and motivated them to realise their dreams.
Students and Staff of both the schools were greatly benefitted by the information and guidance shared by her for a multitude of opportunities available in the IT world.
