SHOPIAN, MAY 01: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya today convened a meeting to review the control measures in view of rise in Corona Virus cases in the district.
The DC on the occasion directed the HODs and other concerned officers to remain alert and ensure strict implementation of existing control measures and SOPs to put a control on the rising Covid cases.
The meeting, in consonance with government guidelines, decided to take strong measures to enforce SOPs including social distancing and using of masks. The DC expressed grave concern over the surge in Covid-19 cases in the district and asked the concerned not to show any laxity in enforcing protocols.
The DC impressed upon the officers to strictly implement the strategy of vaccination above 45 years of age, strict control in Containment Zones and promotion of Covid appropriate behaviour among masses and also ensure display of posters in their respective jurisdictions to prevent further surge in the cases.
He asked the respective Tehsildars and Nodal Officers to ramp up and prioritize vaccination in the eligible population groups to address the worsening scenario. He also urged people to participate in the vaccination drives and get vaccinated on priority to keep themselves and their families safe from infection.
Tehsildars and Nodal Officers were also directed to mobilize the targeted beneficiaries towards the vaccination process by seeking help of Lumberdars and other senior citizens.
The DC discussed the status of an ongoing vaccination drive in the district. He stressed upon the Revenue Officers, including Sub Divisional Magistrate and Tehsildars to immediately call a meeting of their subordinate staff and rope them for mass awareness among the general public about Covid protocols.
Highlighting the importance of close coordination among different agencies of the government involved in the mitigation efforts, he passed directions for the establishment of dedicated control rooms at Sub Division Level and at Block Levels to share data and take effective measures in case of any emergency like situation in their respective areas with the District Control Room.
The DC issued directions for setting up of Isolation Centres in a ready to use condition. He further directed for quick response to meet up with any exigency occurring due to unprecedented rise in the Covid cases.
Among others, CPO Shopian, HODs, Tehsildars, Nodal Officers Health functionaries attended the meeting.
