SHOPIAN, SEPTEMBER 30: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Mohammad Shahid Saleem Dar today visited Sheikhpora-Trenz to oversee the ongoing repair and restoration works on damaged bailey bridge.
The bridge was damaged in April this year and is being maintained by Project Construction Division (PC Division-I) Srinagar.
The DC had taken up the matter with Chief Engineer, R&B Division, Kashmir for immediate restoration of the bridge.
Subsequent to the first visit of the DC to site, the Project Construction Division Srinagar started the repair and restoration works yesterday.
During the visit, the DC was apprised by the team deployed for restoration and repair of the bridge that adequate manpower and machinery has been put into service to repair the damaged bridge. The team assured the DC that they are committed for its immediate restoration and usage of commuters within a period of ten days.
While interacting with the team, the DC praised R&B Department Kashmir, for rendering full support for restoration of Heerpora-Dachnoo bailey bridge within a record period of six days and now for starting repairs of Sheikhpora-Trenz bailey bridge.
