Kupwara, November 3 (JKNS): The District Administration Kupwara organized a dignified farewell ceremony at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office Complex, Kupwara, in honor of the outgoing Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Karnah-Tangdhar, Riaz Ahmad (JKAS). Senior administrative and police officers of the district attended the event, appreciating his services and extending best wishes for his future.
The ceremony was presided over by the Deputy Commissioner, Kupwara. On the occasion, he lauded Riaz Ahmad’s administrative abilities, dedication to duty, quick decision-making, and empathetic approach toward addressing public grievances. He remarked that Riaz Ahmad demonstrated exceptional professionalism, patience, and responsibility while discharging his duties in a sensitive and terrain-challenging border area like Karnah.
Calling his services commendable, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized that the true hallmark of a good administrative officer lies in performance, public connection, and the ability to make sound decisions under difficult circumstances. He urged Riaz Ahmad to continue sharing his extensive field experience and administrative insights with the district administration so that his expertise could be further utilized.
Senior Superintendent of Police, Kupwara, also appreciated Riaz Ahmad’s leadership, excellent inter-departmental coordination, and ability to smoothly execute administrative responsibilities. He noted that mutual cooperation and communication among departments are vital for effective administration in any sub-division, and Riaz Ahmad played a remarkably positive role in this regard throughout his tenure.
During the event, Riaz Ahmad expressed his gratitude to the Deputy Commissioner Kupwara and all officers of the district administration, stating that he received complete support and guidance from senior officers while carrying out his duties. He shared that working in a challenging border region like Karnah was a unique experience involving distinct challenges. He termed the support provided by the district administration a great source of encouragement.
Notably, the farewell ceremony was attended by the Additional Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Additional Deputy Commissioner Handwara, SDM Lolab, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Kupwara, Chief Planning Officer, District Information Officer, alongside other district officials. All officers extended their best wishes to him for his upcoming posting and future assignments.
Organized in recognition of Riaz Ahmad’s services, the ceremony reflects that an officer’s true identity in public service stems not merely from their designation, but from public service, professional conduct, administrative acumen, and commitment to duty.
