The meeting was attended by Joint Commissioner (Administration), SMC; Joint Commissioner (R&E), SMC; Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR); FA/CAO, SMC; Secretary, SMC; the concerned Deputy General Manager, J&K Housing Board; Tehsildars of North, South, Eidgah, Central Shalteng, Khanyar, Panthachowk and Chanapora; representatives of the District Social Welfare Officer, Srinagar, and the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India; besides Ward Officers and CLTC Experts.

Dr. Basharat emphasised that the implementation of PMAY-U 2.0 must remain focused on reaching deserving households, particularly those belonging to the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) and Low-Income Groups (LIG). He stressed that the verification process must be conducted carefully and transparently, ensuring that genuine beneficiaries do not face unnecessary difficulties.

The Commissioner also called for intensified awareness activities at the ward level, directing the concerned officers to organise awareness camps, facilitate online registrations and provide the necessary assistance through ward offices. Highlighting the role of Ward Officers and CLTC Experts, he called for their greater involvement at the grassroots level to guide applicants, address their concerns and assist families who may face difficulties with the online registration process.
