Sopore, Oct 21 (JKNS): The District Magistrate Baramulla has permitted the temporary closure of one lane of the bridge on Sopore Bypass Road for 10 days from October 22 to facilitate necessary repair work.

According to an order issued by the District Magistrate Baramulla on Tuesday, permission has been granted for the closure of a single lane of the bridge at kilometre 1.954 following a request from the Officer Commanding, EE (Civil), 56 RCC (GREF).

The repair work is scheduled to begin on October 22, 2026, and the lane will remain closed for 10 days to allow the necessary repairs to be carried out.

The order directs the Additional Deputy Commissioner Sopore and the Senior Superintendent of Police Sopore to formulate an appropriate traffic plan in consultation with the concerned line departments and stakeholders.

The authorities have been specifically asked to coordinate with members of the Sopore Fruit Growers Association to minimise inconvenience, particularly during the ongoing fruit transportation season.

The traffic arrangements will remain in place until both lanes of the bridge are reopened to traffic.

The order was issued by the District Magistrate Baramulla on October 21, 2026. (JKNS)
