Karnah, October 19 (JKNS): Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Karnah, Mr. Riyaz Ahmad, JKS, today inspected ration depots at Chitterkote and Lountha Granary to review stock availability, ration distribution and arrangements for advance stocking of essential commodities ahead of the winter season.

Situated in a strategically sensitive border region, Karnah often faces challenging winter conditions, with heavy snowfall and adverse weather potentially leading to the closure of Sadhna Top, disrupting road connectivity and the movement of essential supplies. Keeping these seasonal challenges in view, the SDM assessed winter preparedness to ensure adequate availability of ration and other essential commodities, particularly for residents of remote and border areas, and to prevent any shortage during the harsh winter months.

During the visit, the SDM also inspected examination centres at Government Boys Higher Secondary School (BHSS) Kandi and Higher Secondary School (HSS) Teetwal to review arrangements for the smooth, orderly and fair conduct of the Class 10th Board Examinations, which commenced today.

The inspections reflect the administration’s continued focus on essential public services, advance winter preparedness and the smooth conduct of examinations, ensuring that residents in the remote border subdivision receive uninterrupted essential supplies and that students can appear in their examinations in a conducive environment.(JKNS)
