Baramulla, Oct 15 (JKNS): The Additional District Magistrate, Baramulla, has imposed restrictions under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023, within a 200-metre radius of examination centres across the district to ensure the smooth and orderly conduct of the Class 10th, 11th and 12th Annual Regular Examinations 2026.

According to an order issued on October 14, a copy of which lies with news agency JKNS, the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) is scheduled to conduct the examinations from October 19 to November 30, 2026, at various centres across the district.

The restrictions will remain in force on the examination dates specified in the order, from 10:00 AM until the conclusion of the examinations.

As per the order, candidates will be allowed to enter examination centres only after proper verification of their identity and hall tickets. Examination staff, including superintendents, invigilators, observers and other authorised personnel, will be permitted entry after producing photo identity cards and undergoing biometric verification wherever applicable.

The order further states that candidates will not be allowed to leave examination halls before the stipulated time except under exceptional circumstances and with prior authorisation.

Entry of unauthorised persons within a 200-metre radius of examination centres has been prohibited. Candidates have also been barred from carrying mobile phones, electronic devices, calculators, books, notes or any other unauthorised material that could be used for cheating.

The order also prohibits gatherings of more than five persons within the restricted area and the use of public address systems and loudspeakers between 12 noon and 4:00 PM.

However, the restrictions will not apply to law enforcement agencies, magistrates and persons associated with the conduct of the examinations.

The Additional District Magistrate has warned that any violation of the order will invite punitive action under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023.

The order has been issued under the hand and seal of the Additional District Magistrate, Baramulla, on October 14, 2026. (JKNS)
