Srinagar, Oct 12 (JKNS): Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat on Monday called for a collective effort to protect children and youth from drug abuse, stressing that tackling the menace requires active participation from all sections of society.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a function at Police Public School in Srinagar, as per news agency JKNS, DGP Prabhat said the anti-drug campaign was gaining momentum across Jammu and Kashmir under the leadership of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha.

“These small children are the future of our country,” he said, underlining the collective responsibility to safeguard the younger generation from drug abuse.

Referring to recent action against drug trafficking in Srinagar, the DGP said significant progress had been made, with several arrests carried out as part of the crackdown.

He described the fight against drugs as a society-wide effort involving a whole-of-government approach and urged people to actively participate in the campaign.

“It is our duty that we participate in this fight and say no to drugs,” he added. (JKNS)
