Budgam, Oct 5 (JKNS): Chairperson, J&K Waqf Board Dr Syed Darakhshan Andrabi today inaugurated the newly constructed Sabaat Complex and a High-tech Conference Hall at the revered Ziarat Sharif of Hazrat Sheikh Noor-ud-Din Noorani (RA) at Chrar-e-Sharief, Budgam.
Dr Andrabi was accompanied by Waqf Board Members Dr Ghulam Nabi Haleem and Syed Mohammad Hussain Haqani, along with Ishtiyaq Mohiuddin, Tehsildar-cum-Executive Magistrate of the J&K Waqf Board.
The newly constructed facilities mark a significant milestone in the ongoing development of Chrar-e-Sharief and reflect the J&K Waqf Board’s continued focus on strengthening infrastructure at important religious and spiritual centres across Jammu & Kashmir.
Addressing the gathering on the occasion, Dr Andrabi highlighted the importance of these infrastructure projects, stating that the development of facilities at revered shrines is essential for improving arrangements for devotees and visitors while preserving the spiritual and cultural heritage of these historic places.
“Development is now synonymous with the J&K Waqf Board, and this mission will continue. We are committed to transforming our religious institutions through planned infrastructure development, improved facilities and better management. Our endeavour is to ensure that our revered shrines retain their spiritual sanctity while providing better amenities to the people,” Dr Andrabi said.
Waqf Chairperson later convened a meetings with the Board authorities, local management and the eminent persons from the civil society of the town. She emphasized that Chrar-e-Sharief holds immense spiritual, historical and cultural significance, being closely associated with the life and teachings of Hazrat Sheikh Noor-ud-Din Noorani (RA), the revered patron saint of Kashmir.
She said that the development of the shrine and its associated infrastructure would contribute to enhancing facilities for devotees and strengthening the heritage value of this important spiritual destination.
Dr Andrabi reiterated that the Waqf Board would continue its development initiatives across Jammu & Kashmir with a focus on infrastructure upgradation, improved public amenities and the preservation of religious and cultural heritage.
“The inauguration of the Sabaat Complex and Conference Hall adds to the ongoing infrastructure development initiatives of the J&K Waqf Board aimed at improving facilities at important shrines and religious institutions throughout the Union Territory”, said Waqf Chairperson.
The engineering team headed by Executive Engineer Er. Qazi Mushtaq, besides other officers and officials including Incharge Officer Engineer Rehmatullah Bhat, Administrator Chrar-e-Sharief Mohammed Amin Dar, Assistant Executive Engineers Ghulam-e-Murtaza Shah and Amir Yaqoob & Assistant Engineer Javed Ahmad also were present in the inauguration ceremony.
