Srinagar, Sept 29 (JKNS): An encounter broke out between terrorists and security forces in the Gurwatkalan area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Tuesday, officials said.
A senior J&K Police officer told news agency JKNS that a joint team of security forces launched a cordon and search operation in the area following specific intelligence inputs.
As the forces intensified the operation and moved towards the suspected location, terrorists hiding in the area opened fire, triggering an exchange of fire, the officer said.
The anti terror operation in the area is underway, officer told JKNS.
