Srinagar, Sept 29 (JKNS): The Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly on Tuesday passed a Bill seeking to consolidate and amend the law to replace permission-based control with rule-based governance in the Union Territory.
The Bill, L.A. Bill No. 11 of 2026, was moved by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Minister Incharge Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, for consideration and passage, as per news agency JKNS.
The legislation seeks to enable citizens and enterprises to plan, invest and work with confidence, while fostering Ease of Doing Business and Ease of Living in Jammu and Kashmir.
It further seeks to generate employment, attract investment and sustain long-term economic growth in the Union Territory.
The Assembly subsequently passed the Bill. (JKNS)
