Sopore:A free medical and health check-up camp was organised at the Health and Wellness Centre, Seloo, Sopore, by former BDC Chairperson Dr Farida Khan in collaboration with the Ayush Department, Baramulla.
Around 300 local residents, including women, school students, elderly persons and other members of the community, participated in the camp.
The Ayush Department provided free medicines and health check-ups, including screening for blood pressure, diabetes and other basic health parameters.
Speaking to reporters, Dr Farida Khan said the programme was organised under the Seva Sankalp initiative as part of the BJP’s celebrations marking Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 25 years in public life. She said similar public-service activities are being organised in different areas, including a recently held blood donation camp at SDH Sopore.
Dr Khan said today’s programme was organised under her supervision with the aim of providing accessible healthcare services to the local population.
Locals expressed gratitude to Dr Farida Khan and the Ayush Department for organising the free medical camp and providing medicines and health screening services.
Traders Federation Seloo President Nasir Ahmad and other dignitaries were also present on the occasion.
