Srinagar, 24 Sept(JKNS): The Indian Army on Thursday flagged off a Capacity Building Tour (CBT) for 20 Kashmiri girl students to premier defence institutions in Pune, Maharashtra, under its Operation Sadbhavana initiative.
As part of the tour, the students will visit the National Defence Academy (NDA), Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) and Army Institute of Technology (AIT), where they will gain first hand exposure to India’s defence education and training ecosystem.
During their visit, the students will interact with lady cadets, women officers and faculty members, providing them an opportunity to learn about career avenues in the armed forces and other professional fields.
The initiative is aimed at empowering young girls from Kashmir by broadening their exposure, encouraging career aspirations and promoting national integration. It also seeks to strengthen engagement between Kashmiri youth and the Indian Army.
The tour is expected to provide the students with greater awareness of opportunities in defence education while encouraging them to pursue their academic and professional goals.(JKNS)
