Srinagar, Sept 23 (JKNS): Advisor to J&K Chief Minister Nasir Aslam Wani on Wednesday said that the advent of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has increased the need for students to learn more and compete in a rapidly changing world.
Addressing the ALOHA National Level Competition (NLC)-2026 at SKICC Srinagar, Nasir Aslam Wani, as per news agency JKNS, recalled the time when students were required to memorise mathematical calculations and calculators were considered a new invention.
“In our time, calculator was a new invention and we were not allowed to use it,” he said.
He termed the participation and performance of children in the competition a great achievement, saying he was happy and amazed to see students, including those from far-flung areas, winning competitions.
“It is heartwarming and it will go long,” he said.
Wani said the emergence of AI has changed the way students learn and compete, adding that they now need to do more and compete in the new technological environment.
He said AI and tools such as ChatGPT are not limited to mathematics and can help students improve their understanding and learn more about different aspects of life.(JKNS)
