Budgam, September 23, 2026: Prominent public figure Er. Nazir Ahmad Yatoo has appealed to the Honorable MLAs of Charar-i-Sharief and Chadoora to intervene urgently for the widening and 2-lanning of the critical Srinagar–Chadoora road corridor.
Highlighting severe daily traffic gridlocks, Er. Yatoo pointed out that rapid urbanization has overwhelmed the current infrastructure, creating major bottlenecks at Rambagh, Chanapora, Bypass Bridge (Bagh-e-Mehtab), Kralpora, Wathoora, and Chadoora Town. These frequent jams cause massive delays for commuters, students, and emergency ambulances heading to Srinagar hospitals, while significantly impacting movement toward Charar-i-Sharief and worsening local air pollution.
Er. Yatoo stated that upgrading this key arterial route into a 2-lane corridor is the only long-term solution to ensure smooth connectivity and economic growth in District Budgam. He urged both MLAs to jointly take up the project with the administration, secure financial sanctions, and allocate necessary funds in the upcoming infrastructure plan for immediate execution.
