Budgam, Sep 19 (JKNS): Budgam Police have apprehended an absconding accused wanted in multiple cheque-bounce cases and a cheating case registered at Police Station Magam, officials said.

As per news agency JKNS, Police have apprehended an absconding accused, Reyaz Ahmad Dar S/o Ghulam Mohammad Dar, R/o Attina, Beerwah, from Hawal, Srinagar.

 

The accused is involved in multiple cheque-bounce cases and is also wanted in connection with FIR No. 26/2024 under Section 420 IPC of Police Station Magam. The said person was also figuring in the absconder/missing list of Police Station Beerwah.

 

The Hon’ble Court of CJM Budgam had issued a warrant against him in connection with proceedings under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act.

 

Acting on reliable information, a police team from Police Station Beerwah, in coordination with Police Station Zadibal, Srinagar, traced and apprehended the accused from Hawal, Srinagar.

 

During preliminary investigation, it has emerged that the accused is allegedly involved in cheating multiple persons by gaining their confidence through fraudulent representations in connection with gold-related business transactions.

 

Following the alleged transactions, he reportedly left the business and remained absconding for a considerable period. Further legal proceedings are underway as per law. (JKNS)
